At Academics West, we believe in the power of books to inspire, educate, and empower students. Our recent Scholastic Book Fair was a perfect reminder of how magical reading can truly be.
From November 29th through December 6th, our school transformed into a vibrant hub for book lovers of all ages. Students explored shelves full of exciting titles from graphic novels and fantasy adventures to inspiring biographies and educational reads. But this event was more than just a chance to buy books. It was a celebration of curiosity, imagination, and the joy of independent reading.
Community Success: Over $600 Raised
Thanks to the incredible support of our families and community, the Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success. Together, we raised over $600, which will go toward purchasing new books and classroom supplies. This generous contribution helps us continue building an enriching educational environment and nurtures a lifelong love of learning in every child.

Why the Scholastic Book Fair Matters
Research shows that when kids pick out their own books, they’re more likely to read and enjoy it. This love of reading improves academic skills, emotional wellness, creativity, and focus. Events like the Book Fair empower students to take ownership of their learning and help build a strong culture of literacy at Academics West.
Giving Back Through Share the Fair™
This year, many families also contributed to Scholastic’s Share the Fair™ initiative through eWallet, a digital payment system. Their generosity helped ensure all students regardless of financial circumstances could leave the fair with a book in hand.
We are so proud of our community for supporting this initiative and making sure every student experienced the joy of reading.

Whether it was the thrill of choosing a new favorite book or the excitement of making a purchase, the Scholastic Book Fair left lasting memories for everyone involved. These experiences are essential in developing strong, confident, and motivated readers.
