Admissions

How To Apply

Rolling Admissions

Academics West follows a typical school admissions process but also allows some students to apply mid-year. We offer a 10-month and 12-month academic year as well as a summer program.  Our summer program allows students to catch-up on their education or can be used to ensure that students hone their skills and to prevent regression.   We make efforts to be flexible for our students and families to make the educational journey a successful one.

To Apply

Our application is hosted by TADs, a web-based admissions and enrollment system.  TADs allows you to easily track the status of your application online.  To apply create a user account, pay the $185 fee, and submit your application.

For any questions, please reach out to our Admissions Office at 212-580-0080 or email admissions@academicswest.com

Tuition

As a private school and given the individualization provided, the schools tuition is costly. To reduce the burden, tuition can be paid in 10 monthly installments if all tuition obligations are met by March of the school year. We do also work with some lending institutions to help parents obtain funding for tuition and can provide information on these programs upon request.

Financial Awards

Academics West is dedicated to helping all students regardless of financial ability and, thus, offer a few Connors spots (when the DOE directly reimburses the school after settlement) or Blended spots (where the school will accept a portion of the tuition until the DOE case is finalized).  As a tuition-based independent school, we are only able to offer a limited number of such placements. If you are seeking a Connor’s placement, please follow the steps below.

Steps to Apply for Connor’s or Blended Financial Award

  • When prompted to select a school, families should enter 200335 for Academics West or search by name
  • Submit the following:
    • Parent Financial Statement (PFS)
    • Most recent Federal Tax Returns
    • Signed form 4506-T
    • Most recent  W’2 and/or 1099s
    • You may update and review the status of your Financial Aid application via the SSS account portal.

*Please note parents should still fill out an application in addition to applying for an award.

Educational Attorney

If you plan to seek reimbursement from the Department of Education, you may wish to hire an educational attorney to help you through this process.  An educational attorney is an important team member to help explain to you the DOE ligation process and advocate on the appropriate academic setting for your child.

Please reach out to the Admissions Office (212-580-0080 or admissions@academicswest.com), if you would like a list of attorneys the schools has worked with regularly.
