MEET THE SPEAKER: Dr. Joanna Bronfman
Dr. Joanna Bronfman is the Founder and Executive Clinical Director of Backcountry Wellness, a premier eating disorder treatment platform in Greenwich, CT, offering Residential, PHP, IOP, and Outpatient Services for adolescents and young adults. She holds a Psy.D. in psychology, an MSW, and an MS in education, and is a pioneer in the field of eating disorders. Dr. Bronfman has lectured at esteemed institutions such as Yale University and the University of Connecticut and has been a sought-after speaker at The Nantucket Project and national school districts. Her clinical experience includes private practice, roles with New York Presbyterian Hospital/Cornell Medical Center, and the Pleasantville Public School District, as well as serving as Clinical Supervisor at the Renfrew Center for Eating Disorders. She earned her doctorate from California Southern University, her MSW from NYU, and her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. Through Backcountry Wellness, Dr. Bronfman fosters an environment of acceptance and compassion, understanding the psychological and emotional challenges faced by those struggling with eating disorders. Her life’s passion is to redefine eating disorder treatment, creating inclusive spaces where individuals can find the support they need to heal in a way that works best for them.
